More recently, she has been featured twice on the University’s newspaper, discussing her passion, and has also had her work displayed within the art department’s Student Exhibitions. Alves has also had work exhibited and sold within the Index Art Center. She has recently held her Senior Gallery show, featuring paintings that dealt with her ideas on deeper human existence.
Alves has always felt a deep desire to create art work as her main form of expression. The more she has become educated on certain basics, techniques, methods, and ideas, the more her mind began to expand on different ways she can display the mind that dwells within herself. She focuses on demonstrating an otherworldly feel within her work. In a swirl of ethereal and ominous figures, she enables her viewers to look deeper within themselves as well as observing the emotions within the art.
Over her years of study, practice, self-discovery, and dedication Amanda Alves has developed her eccentric style that transcends traditionally morbid images and dark shades into highly intellectual, sublime, images with a modern flair. Her work emits a style that is highly recognizable.
